Trenchers has expanded further up North!

You asked, we listened…if you haven’t heard already, our wonderfully popular restaurant in Whitby has expanded!

Trenchers opened in 1980, launching as a Fish & Chip restaurant, the menu was developed to make the most of the fresh produce available in the famous seaside town of Whitby. In 2019, Trenchers’ efforts were finally recognised as the UK’s Best Fish & Chip Restaurant 2019, we are so proud to bring this institution to Whitley Bay.

The nation’s favourite dish should be enjoyed in the perfect coastal location. Offering friendly service with a smile, Trenchers is a place the whole family will love. The restaurant notably enjoys a very special spot under the dome itself with a pianist playing on selected days. With options including Fish & Chips, Vegetarian and Vegan options, Homemade Pies, Lasagnes and plenty of Seafood, there truly is something for everyone.

Situated on Whitley Bay’s iconic promenade sits the stunning Spanish City, with Trenchers located directly underneath the dome. The seafood restaurant is the perfect setting whether you’re making a trip with the whole family, that well-needed ‘date night’ with that special someone or a casual catch-up with friends. We can also accommodate larger parties with our comfortable booths, seating around 8 people, or separate tables can be joined together to suit any occasion.
