Trenchers of Whitby is hiring: multiple job roles available

Trenchers of Whitby is recruiting to fill multiple new job roles at the long-standing restaurant and takeaway. Established just over 40 years ago, Trenchers prides itself on its fresh and delicious food, accompanied by impeccable and welcoming customer service.

The establishment currently employs over 60 dedicated and hard-working members of staff, each one being responsible for ensuring service with a smile is enjoyed during every visit. The management team are dedicated to creating a family atmosphere for customers dining at the restaurant and employees alike. Some members of our loyal team have served for over 30 years, with families passing the torch from generation to generation on many occasions.

In 2019, we were proud to be awarded ‘Best Fish and Chip Restaurant in the UK’ at The National Fish and Chip Awards by Seafish and NFFF. The awards recognise outstanding restaurants across the country that serve incredible fish and chips and provide excellent customer service.

Here are the job vacancies we currently have available:

Counter Assistant

We are looking for two part-time Counter Assistants to serve our customers in our successful takeaway. The role will involve taking orders, payments and serving customers their meals. Excellent levels of customer service and punctuality are required.

Candidates will need to be aged 16 or above and be willing to work some weekends, evenings and school holidays. Full onsite training will be provided and no experience is necessary.

Preparation Assistant

A Potato and Chip Preparation Assistant is required at Trenchers Restaurant. The role involves operating prep machines to peel and chip potatoes for our busy, award-winning restaurant. Working mornings from Monday to Friday, the role will require a self-motivated and reliable individual.

Full onsite training will be provided.

Pot Washer/Kitchen Porter

Two Pot Washers/Kitchen Porters are required for our ever-expanding team at Trenchers Restaurant. Basic duties involve loading and unloading the dishwasher, putting things in the correct location and keeping work areas clean and tidy.

Full-time and part-time positions available, so hours to suit individual circumstances can be negotiated. No experience necessary but must be 16yrs or over. Full onsite training will be provided.
